The maritime economy drives much of the demand: industrial and perimeter security around Devonport's support industries, the docks at Millbay, and the marine businesses along the Tamar. The university drives student accommodation security, and the Barbican and Union Street night-time economies need professional door teams.
The visitor season brings waterfront events and festivals on the Hoe, the city-centre retail core needs loss prevention, and the business parks at Derriford, Estover and Plympton need corporate cover and out-of-hours response.
